What kind of makeup do you use?

We only use high quality professional products that we love and trust to garner beautiful, long lasting results every time. We are completely independent, and do not work on behalf of any cosmetic house. We mostly use products from M.A.C., NARS, Makeup Forever and Dinair to name a few.

Why hire a professional makeup artist for your wedding day as opposed to doing it your self?

DUO takes into account all aspects of your wedding day makeup, chief among them being lighting and photography. Your wedding is the most photographed day of your life. Looking your most beautiful is likely your main concern and that is the very heart of our business. Leave your wedding day makeup to professionals with over a decade of experience. We have the necessary tools to ensure your makeup will last and photograph beautifully.

Is the trial run necessary?

Yes. It gives a chance to meet with you prior to the wedding and collaborate on a look that works for you. We will discuss the location, time of day (day or night), colors, dress, photography, etc. All of these factors make a difference in the style or look you wish to achieve for your event. Spending the time gathering this information will make your event day run even smoother. We often recommend that brides schedule their makeup trial the same date as their bridal shower or bachelorette party. That way your makeup is already professionally done, and you will be able to see how well it lasts and how beautifully it photographs.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount of makeup applications required?

In order to give you the best price we prefer a three-person minimum for weddings, but try to accommodate any of your needs for your event.

How long does it take for a makeup application?

We like to allow at least a half hour per person and one hour for a bride.

Do you travel?

Yes. Often our work takes us to all locations within and outside the US. Destination weddings are more popular than ever. Extra fees will apply if location is one hour outside of Philadelphia.

Are there any extra fees that I should know about ahead of time?

Possible Extra Fees: parking in Metropolitan areas, day rates, per hour rates, mileage fees based on IRS 2011 rate. Please inquire with us for more information.

Do you have experience with all skin tones?

Yes. We have worked with all ethnicities and ages.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes. If you wish to use our services a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your event date. We cannot secure your event date if we have not received a deposit.

Do you do hair?

Yes. We have many preferred vendors that we work with that we would be more than happy to recommend. We would come to your location to provide you with great service and a stress free day.

Can you cover a tattoo?

Yes. We have all the necessary full coverage products to completely conceal any tattoos.

What products do you recommend for touch ups?

Our makeup is extremely long lasting but weddings are long events; it's nice to have items on hand for touch ups. We will make personalized recommendations during your trial, but typically all you will need is blot powder or blotting papers, lipstick and lip-gloss.
